Are you able to work? What are your living expenses?
Yes I am able to work, I would like to work a part time job and study at the same time too, but here it's almost impossible to find a part time job or a full time job. I travel from my home to university five times a week.
Tell us about your goals – what do you want to do after you graduate? Where do you want to work? Why are you studying what you are?
My future goals are to finish the University to get a job as a teacher at a primary school, I would like to teach the future generation of my country, to help them to study hard and to have a better future.
Tell us what an education means to you.
I believe that education is very important. I am a student of education and the reason why I choose to study education is because it is so important. When a country has education everything is improved. I hope that in the future our country will have better schools, students and teachers. I am not the first person of my family that has gone to the University, my grandfather, my father my uncle and my aunt has finished the university. I have one sister* and one brother and we all three are attending University.
*Delvina's sister Donjeta is also a Flora Scholarship recipient.
Why does Kosovo need more educated women?
Women's education is among the most important priorities in all the countries aimed at achieving acceptable educational standards. In Kosovo, the level of education is considered among the lowest in Europe, there is a lack of statistics both quantitative and qualitative especially relating to the education of girls and the reasons of their exclusions in the educational process. Nonetheless, clear and explicit indicators have reflected this phenomenon (gender discrimination in education) in Kosovo society over a number of years.
Kosovo as a country needs to have more educated women. When women have an education, they have better jobs and can be free.
If you could use three words to describe yourself, what would they be? Why?
Determined , optimist and patient.
I am a very determined person, when I set a goal I don't stop until I accomplish it. I am very much an optimist, I always see the bright side of things. I am also a very patient because I belive that it is important to wait because your time will come.
